World Tamil Diaspora Day 2025

Dr. D. S. Prabakaran Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, CET, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur participated and represented Korea Tamil Sangam (KTS) at two-day annual World Tamil Diaspora Day 2025 organized by Commissionerate of Rehabilitation and Welfare of Non Resident Tamils, Government of TamilNadu at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, on January 11 & 12, 2025. Hon’ble Chief Minister Thiru M. K. Stalin and Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. Udhayanidhi Stalin inaugurated the fourth edition of the World Tamil Diaspora Day 2025 themed

“எத்திசையும் தமிழணங்கே.” This event also had the participation of Hon’ble Ministers SM Nazar, TM Anbarasan, Anbil Mahesh, Ma Subramaniam, R Rajendran, S. S Sivsankar, MP Saminathan and other dignitaries including MLAs, MPs, eminent scientists, entrepreneurs, research scholars across the globe.

Dr. D. S. Prabakaran serving as Co-Ordinator of “Korea Tamil Sangam (KTS)”. On behalf of KTS he delivered speech on “Tamil Sangangalin Sangamam” with special emphasis on KTS’ activities such as organizing cultural events, language and cultural unity, celebrating tamil new year and Pongal festival, felicitating Tamil researchers, Thirukural translation in Korean language. Especially in association with Tamil Nadu Government schemes, KTS is involved in “Karka Kasadara”, Mentoring rural Indian students for higher education under Naan Mudhalvan Scheme along with many similar initiatives like educational tour opportunities for Tamil Nadu rural Government school students to visit Korean Educational institutions. Hon’ble Minister SM Nazar recognized and appreciated Dr. D. S. Prabakaran by presenting a memento and shawl. Finally, Dr. D. S. Prabakaran presented eleven-point demands of the Korean Tamil Association to Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.

Dr. D. S. Prabakaran participated as chief guest at the interview organized by “Puthiyathalaimurai” news channel on KTS activities. The entire event was documented and streamlined by several main stream media and regional magazines.
