IQAC- Facilitator of Academic Quality (Proposed)
SRM Institute of Science and Technology, (formerly SRM University) has been accredited with the highest grade A++ in its 4th Cycle by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) for the period 16.06.2024 – 15.06.2031 (7 years). It is another feather on SRMIST’s cap as it prides over being awarded the highest grade for three consecutive cycles dating back to 2013.
The IQAC at SRMIST has been consistently and actively involved in quality sustenance and enhancement activities. It is a participative cell that works on evolving strategies to remove deficiencies, stay receptive to changes and enhance quality, thus channelizing the efforts of the stakeholders at SRMIST towards achieving holistic academic excellence, generating desired educational outcomes and delivering on best student-life experiences.

Welcome to IQAC
Our work at Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is strategic in nature and we see ourselves as facilitators of quality assurance in academic activities through Accreditation / Ranking / Rating / Approval processes. We consider this far beyond just policy mandated work. We are guided by Our Founder – Chancellor Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar’s Vision to stay ahead and bring about meaningful continuous improvements so ultimately our students, scholars and faculty members benefit. We are the single point contact for all things connected to regulations and disclosures as mandated by the statutory authorities. Organization Structure

Key People & their Role (proposed)
SRMIST’s Vice Chancellor keeps a close track and extends the necessary support to IQAC.
The Dean manages IQAC’s operations through a 13-member staff team of dedicated staff, extended teams and committees who handle the coordination, compilation, presentation of data.
The IQAC Committee comprising of about 20 Members handle the policy making role and assists the Dean, IQAC.
The Functional Committee comprising of 8 members and IQAC Coordinators team comprising of 31 members ensure IQAC is able to liaise with wide ranging stakeholder group.
Strategic Objectives and functioning
IQAC shall evolve mechanisms and procedures
- Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks
- The relevance and quality of academic and research programmes
- Equitable access to and affordability of academic programmes for various sections of society
- Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning
- The credibility of evaluation procedures
- Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and functioning of the support structure and services
- Research sharing and networking with other institutions in India and abroad.

Functions
Some of the functions expected of the IQAC
- Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution
- Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process
- Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes
- Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education
- Development of Quality Culture in the institution.
- Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement.
- Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices.
- Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality.
- Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles
- Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC
Enabling Role & Benefits
IQAC will play an enabling role and contribute towards the following:
- Ensure heightened level of clarity and focus in institutional functioning towards quality enhancement
- Ensure Internationalization of the quality culture.
- Ensure enhancement and coordination among various activities of the institution and institutionalize all good practices.
- Provide a sound basis for decision-making to improve institutional functioning.
- Act as a dynamic system for quality changes in HEIs.
- Build an organised methodology of documentation and internal communication.
