Athletes from SRM Institute of Science and Technology delivered a commanding performance at the Buck Memorial Tennis Tournament, held at the YMCA College of Physical Education, Chennai, from July 22 to 23, 2025.
Competing against top talent from across the region, SRM’s players, fielded under the leadership of the Directorate of Sports, SRMIST, secured multiple podium finishes across categories.
In the Men’s Singles, Mr. Mohammad Hassan (RA2451001010009), BBA (3rd Year), emerged as the tournament champion, claiming the Gold Medal with a dominant display of consistency and control.
The Women’s Singles title was won by Ms. Joel Nichole (RA2331013010046), B.Sc. Physical Education (3rd Year), who navigated a competitive draw with poise to earn Gold for SRM.
Ms. Nichole added to her success by partnering with Ms. Nivedha (RA2531013010017), B.Sc. Physical Education (1st Year), in the Women’s Doubles, where the duo finished runners-up, securing the Silver Medal.
In the Men’s Doubles, Mr. Mohammad Hassan teamed up with Mr. Nithin Vijay (RA2211002010021), B.Tech. (4th Year), to capture the Bronze Medal, rounding off SRM’s strong campaign at the tournament.
The Directorate of Sports at SRMIST continues to foster a high-performance sports culture by providing structured training, infrastructure, and competitive exposure for its student-athletes. This latest achievement is a testament to the university’s commitment to sporting excellence.
