SRMIST Signs MoU with Indian Coast Guard and CGWWA to Support Educational Welfare of Coast Guard Families

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Coast Guard and the Coast Guard Welfare and Wellness Association (CGWWA) to extend educational support to the families of Coast Guard personnel.

The signing ceremony took place at the Indian Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (East), Chennai. The MoU was formally signed by Dr. S. Ponnusamy, Registrar, SRMIST; DIG Anurag Kaushik, Chief of Staff, RHQ (East), Indian Coast Guard; and Mrs. Priya Paramesh, President, CGWWA.

This strategic collaboration aims to enhance access to higher education for the wards and spouses of serving and retired Coast Guard personnel, including those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty or are living with disabilities.

As part of the agreement, SRMIST will offer tuition fee concessions and reserved seats across its undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs at all campuses.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice Chancellor, SRMIST, stated, “SRMIST remains committed to advancing multidisciplinary education and research. This collaboration with the Indian Coast Guard and CGWWA underscores our ongoing commitment to social responsibility by providing quality educational opportunities to the families of those who serve the nation.”
