The National Service Scheme (NSS) of SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) recently organized “AccessAbility: Empowering Lives with Supportive Devices for People with Physical Disabilities” on January 8, 2025. The event was organized at the Samuthaya Nala Koodam, Otteri Vandalur Village Panchayat.
Aligned with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), the event emphasized empowerment and inclusivity for individuals with physical disabilities. Dr. K. Suresh Kumar, Professor and Head of the department, Department of Mechanical Engineering graced the occasion, underscoring SRMIST’s commitment to social responsibility. The event was coordinated by Dr. V. Raghavendra Rao, NSS Programme officer and was supported by a dedicated team of faculty members, including Dr. M. R. Stalin John, Dr. S. Murali, Dr M. Prakash, and Dr. Umasekar V G all from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Dr. Maheswari K, NSS Programme officer, Faculty of Management delivered the Vote of Thanks. Their coordinated efforts ensured the program’s success, reflecting SRMIST’s ongoing endeavor to enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities.
