The National Service Scheme, in collaboration with SRM College of Nursing, Medicine & Health Sciences, organized an institutional-level program titled “A Holistic Approach to Overcoming Addiction” on December 2, 2024, at Turing Hall, Tech Park, SRMIST, Kattankulathur.

The event featured an insightful session by Dr. V. Valarmathi, Assistant Professor, SRM College of Nursing, Medicine & Health Sciences, KTR.
The event was Coordinated by Dr. T. Lakshmanan, NSS Programme Advisor, SRMIST, KTR and Dr. V. Prakash, NSS Programme Coordinator, SRMIST, KTR.
Dr. S. Usha Sukanya, an Associate professor in the department of networking and communications at SRMIST KTR, and Dr. T. Y. J. Naga Malleswari, an Associate professor in the same department, gave the vote of gratitude.
The program emphasized strategies to overcome mobile addiction through psychological, behavioral, and lifestyle interventions. Key highlights included setting screen time limits, fostering real-life connections, engaging in physical activities, and practicing digital detoxes. Stress-relief methods such as slow breathing, physical exercise, and mindful meditation were integrated to enhance overall well-being.
