The Department of Computing Technologies at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, marked a key milestone in its ongoing industry–academia partnership with Apollo Tyres by successfully deploying Phase II projects under the SRM – Apollo R&D Global Asia collaboration. A total of 11 worklets were benchmarked and deployed on 24th July 2025, highlighting the department’s focus on applied research and industry-relevant innovation.
The Phase II projects were coordinated by Dr. B. Kanisha and mentored by a dedicated team of faculty members, including Dr. S. Saravanan, Dr. Madhavan, Dr. Kishore Anthuvan, Dr. Divya Mohan, Dr. Pretty Diana Cyril, Dr. Rajalakshmi, Dr. Girirajan, Prof. Indhumathi R, Dr. Subash, Dr. Muralidharan, Dr. Jesline, and Dr. S. S. Saranya. Their guidance and technical support enabled student teams to develop and deploy solutions aligned with Apollo’s R&D objectives.
The Apollo Tyres R&D team appreciated the department’s consistent performance and collaborative spirit. The event also saw recognition and gratitude extended to key Apollo R&D leaders for their continued engagement. Mr. S.K.P. Amarnath, Vice President – Global R&D, and Mr. P.K. Unnikrishnan, Global Head – Tyre Testing, R&D Chennai, were acknowledged for their support throughout the project phases.
The department also thanked Apollo mentors including Mr. Aswin Veerappan, Ms. Sreelakshmi, Ms. Deepti Soni, Mr. Alavudeen N, Mr. Sudhakar Karunamurthy, Dr. Abhay Kumar, Ms. Marymol Johnson, Mr. Neeraj P.K., Mr. Sushant Kumar, and Mr. Seetharaman for their guidance.
The department expressed appreciation to Dr. Revathi Venkatraman, Chairperson, School of Computing, and Dr. Pushpalatha M, Associate Chair – CS, whose leadership helped drive this collaboration. Special thanks were also extended to Dr. G. Niranjana, Head of the Department, for her constant support.
