SRMIST and CCRH Join Hands to Advance Drug Standardization Research for Human Welfare

In a strategic step towards advancing integrative medical research, the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Interdisciplinary Institute of Indian System of Medicine & Homoeopathy (IIISM), operating under the Directorate of Research at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST).

The partnership is driven by a shared vision to explore the hidden potential of homoeopathic medicine for the benefit of mankind. The collaborative research will particularly focus on drug standardization in the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders and diabetic foot ulcers—two critical areas of public health concern.

CCRH is renowned for its pioneering work in clinical, pharmaceutical, and fundamental research within the Homoeopathy System of Medicine (HSM). With an extensive national network of research institutes and laboratories, the Council is actively involved in clinical trials, drug standardization, cultivation and documentation of medicinal plants, and outreach through public education and health services.

The MoU paves the way for synergistic research efforts, combining CCRH’s scientific expertise and SRMIST’s cutting-edge infrastructure and interdisciplinary approach. The joint projects under this agreement have received approval from the Scientific Advisory Board of CCRH, ensuring a robust foundation for impactful outcomes.

The formal signing took place in the presence of Dr. Subhash Kaushik, Director General of CCRH; Prof. S. Ponnusamy, Registrar of SRMIST; Dr. R.C. Satish Kumar, Coordinator of IIISM; and senior CCRH officials Dr. Digvijay Verma and Dr. Karthikeyan.

This collaboration underscores SRMIST’s ongoing commitment to evidence-based research and innovation in traditional medicine, aiming to contribute significantly to the evolving landscape of public health and integrative healthcare solutions.
