Overview
Established in 2008 under the guidance and leadership of our visionary founder and Chancellor, Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar, the Division of Medical Research Centre is actively engaged in world-class research in medical and allied sciences. This Division of Medical Research Centre, housed on the vast campus of SRMIST, gives our research-minded students and scholars an unparalleled platform to work on a variety of futuristic areas guided by faculty members. The Division of Medical Research at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology is committed to the pursuit of excellence in research and aims to lead the national agenda across the spectrum of science and technology, the humanities, and social responsibilities. Our commitment to the range of our interdisciplinary work is reflected in the sustenance of both applied research and basic research, which may yield a long-term impact. The Division of Medical Research ensures that all core and interdisciplinarity flourish in research by adopting the highest norms and standards of a scholarly undertaking.
The Activities of SRM Division of Medical Research encompass

There are many of our scholars who pursue Ph.D. who will incredibly benefit from such a platform that is focused on medical research.
Infrastructure
Apart from the regular lab facilities in various departments, a Central laboratory, animal house and an Institutional Ethics committee are functioning. Both are compliant with the statutory guidelines.
Our Faculty Members are engaged in high value medical research and are often recepients of funded research opportunities. There are advanced laboratory, testing and simulation equipments and softwares that are accessible for the research purposes. The quality of infrastructure at the Division of Medical Research is amongst the best in the country and meets international standards. This gives our researchers at the centre best research exposure and experience.
Ph.D Research
There is a dedicated focus on having passionate and sincere PhD Research Scholars at our Division of Medical Research, SRMIST. The PhD Researchers have immense benefits in terms of access to a world-class research centre with advanced labs, equipments, software among others. The invaluable support and guidance offered by our much highly qualified and tenured faculty / medical practioners is truly a distinguishing feature of Division of Medical Research toward PhD Research.

Publications, Books & Projects
We have built a legacy of high quality research output. This is accomplished with proactively encouraging our medical research faculty members with seed money to initiate research and to follow through with it till satisfactory conclusion. Research is especially encouraged in emerging and futuristic areas like environmental toxicology, therapeutic intervention in skin disease, implication of yoga to alleviate stress and hypertension, biomarkers in malignancy, sleep and snoring studies, paediatric ENT, etc. Additionally, industry level validation is planned for containment of green house gases. All these result in various high value projects, publications of papers and book chapters being published by our researchers.
