Overview
Centre for Statistics is a hub of statistical training, research, and consultancy at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur. Our aim is to unite multidisciplinary students, research scholars, and faculty to foster innovative thinking and collaboration, as well as address new research challenges across various disciplines within our institution. As a leader in statistical applications and data science, the Centre represents a significant step forward for our institution.

Welcome to Centre for Statistics
The field of statistics is increasingly essential in today’s world due to its vital role in fostering evidence-based decision-making. This discipline supports decision-makers, policymakers, researchers, government and private agencies in reshaping society through informed choices. With the advent of modern computing and technological advancements, the importance and application of statistics have expanded significantly, benefiting students and practitioners alike.
Centre for Statistics in SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur demonstrates the intent to benefit the student and scholar community, and faculty members with world-class assistance in this subject. In addition to helping students acquire data analytic skills, the centre provides in-depth knowledge regarding the application of statistical techniques through effective supervisory training programs. Also to push forward the frontiers of knowledge by offering statistical consultancies and interacting with industries.

Statistical Training Unit
The Statistical Training Unit at the Centre for Statistics offers training programs and short courses designed to enhance statistical knowledge and skills. We provide tailored sessions for internal and external participants, including faculty, researchers, and students. Our focus is on delivering high-quality, practical knowledge to all levels of proficiency.
Data Analytic Unit
Our Data Analytic Unit specializes in translating complex research questions into clear statistical problems. We work closely with researchers to provide precise and actionable insights through advanced statistical analysis and methodological expertise. Our goal is to support a wide range of research needs through interdisciplinary collaboration and expert consultation.
Statistical Consultancy Unit
The Statistical Consultancy Unit offers professional statistical services on a fee-for-service basis. We assist with grant writing, questionnaire design, survey methodology, data analysis, result interpretation, and report writing. Our services are aimed at providing precise and impactful solutions to support your research and data needs.
