A “Semiconductor Industry” minor program is an initiative aimed at fostering the development and growth of the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, support for research and development, and measures to attract investments in semiconductor fabrication plants, design houses, and related technologies, with the goal of building a domestic capability to produce advanced chips and related electronic components. This program aims to produce entrepreneurs in semiconductors and to establish India as a global hub in semiconductor manufacturing process. This course intends to expose students from other disciplines to the fundamentals and the opportunities existing in this exciting field, and to the methodologies used by technologists for the design and production of silicon chips.
