Serene Green campus
This sprawling 250+ acres has in its midst an old world charm on the one end (main campus) to the ultra modern buildings, gardens, lawns, sitout areas, cafes and walkways with trees on the either side giving a wonderful ambience to students and staff. The lakes around, gardens and greenery all around give a perfect balance to the life at SRMIST. Do visit our Campus here at Kattankulathur to get a first hand feel of our green campus!
Cycling across the campus
This is a delight to cyclists who not only gain good health but also find it absolutely relaxing to ride along the length and breadth of this campus. There are a variety of flora and fauna as well as roads named after inspiring personalities from across India and all over the world. While one is at it, don’t miss out on the blending of ancient with the modern as you see monolithic statutes of Raja Raja Chola, Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, Thiruvalluvar, Socrates, Anna, among others. The upcoming Vendhar Square will be a big attraction in the coming months!
Transport Facility
Such a vast campus does require our students and staff to move from one location to another and to enable easier transit, we have our SRM Coaches to the service. Not just within the campus, the transport facility is optional for students and faculty to come to the campus from Chennai and near by areas and get dropped back to their localities. We operate 100s of buses, AC and Non-AC buses, to ensure timely and convenient transit to and back from the campus.
Easy and Convenient Accessibility for All
The goal for SRMIST is to constantly review and invest in removing barriers to create an inclusive and accessible campus for all. Lack of easy access is the greatest road block that prevents empowerment of people with Disabilities (PwD). Barrier free environment enables the PwD to develop in the field of their interest. Towards this, SRMIST provides ramps, low floors in buses, elevators to reach classrooms and labs, Battery run cars, wheelchair friendly network, among others.
Safe & Enjoyable Housing Facilities
SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) has housing facilities to meet the requirements of International, NRI and the Indian students. Each Hostel is self-contained with amenities such as a spacious room, a lounge and a dining hall with mess.
The quality of life is one of the most important factors considered by the students deciding to stay in the College/University hostels. By quality, it is not just the rooms but also the overall environment of the University campus.
SRM provides a comfortable and safe housing to all its students. The students housed in the campus are encouraged to use the gymnasium, playground, and all indoor gaming facilities.
The students staying at SRM hostels are provided with healthy and sumptuous food options at highly subsidized rates. They can choose to have North Indian or South Indian menu in the dining halls that are co-located. For the benefit of our international students, the hostels also offer a multi-cuisine dining facility providing Thai, Chinese and continental food.
Round the clock security
The Security Service of the Kattankulathur campus of SRM Institute of Science & Technology, which has a cluster of Institutions under different streams is secured with best in class security personnel and advanced surveillance and reporting mechanisms. The security and sanctity of the campus is handled by a qualified professional force operated under a senior chief security officer.

As a Directorate, we provide opportunities for all SRMIST students to be active and stay engaged. While making their hostel stay comfortable, we are also responsible to provide avenues to students to channel their energies in value adding activities. Therefore, this provides such a wide ranging options to our students to learn, network, and excel while on campus.
