WIRELESS INFORMATION NETWORKS (WIN) LAB

WIRELESS INFORMATION NETWORKS (WIN) LAB

The mission of this lab is to design, analyze, and characterize microwave components and study optical fiber communication using state-of-the art kits. This lab is equipped to carry out basic microwave measurements, such as impedance, power, frequency, VSWR, etc., using waveguide technology and in-depth knowledge of advanced optical communication. The lab in fiber optics provides the student with an experience on the various fiber optic and digital communication techniques.

Specifications

Description

The laboratory is equipped with microwave bench X-band, which includes Klystron tubes, Gunn diodes, Klystron power supplies, modulators, directional couplers, various power energy and VSWR meters. This lab is also equipped with fiber optic trainer kits and modules to enable the study of components of an optical communication system. The students perform experiments to study the characteristics of optical sources (LED) and optical detectors (LD and PD).
