Centre For Wireless Ev Charging Station
The Wireless Charging Research Center was established in 2022 under the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur. This specialized facility is dedicated to advancing research in the rapidly growing field of electric vehicle (EV) charging, with a strong emphasis on wireless power transfer (WPT) technologies.
Our lab focuses on wireless charging solutions for electric cars, two-wheelers, bicycles, drones, and electric wheelchairs. The center fosters a hands-on research environment for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students, providing them with the necessary tools and mentorship to develop innovative, real-world EV charging solutions. Partially funded by DST-SERB India through the Core Research Grant 2020, the center also supports interdisciplinary R&D in IoT-based wireless charging systems, machine learning-driven designs, PV integration, and battery management systems.
