Transportation Engineering Laboratory
The Transportation Engineering lab has been set up to fulfill the needs of analyzing the traffic movements and testing the pavement materials. This lab is equipped with facilities for analyzing the traffic flow in the roads. Various equipments for the testing of bituminous binder, mastics and mixtures are available in this lab to evaluate and understand the material behaviour. This lab also consists the facilities to perform the mix design of the bituminous mixture using Marshall Stability apparatus with Compaction set up. The Transportation Engineering lab is effectively utilized by the undergraduate students in learning the principles and procedure involved in the traffic engineering and material testing conforming to the standards. Research scholars in the field of transportation engineering are utilizing the lab for the highway material characterization. The consultancy works and social benefit projects are being carried out for the various agencies and organizations related to the traffic engineering and management, pavement material characterizations.
