Soil Mechanics Laboratory
The Soil Mechanics Laboratory is well equipped with most of the automatic and digitalized equipments to determine the Index and Engineering properties of soil. All the facilities are utilized for the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research work which is applied in the field of geotechnical engineering. Moreover, this lab is utilized for the various consultancy works for government and private agencies related to the pavement design, building and water tank foundation design for the contribution to social and industrial development of the country. The experiments in this laboratory enable the students to gather basic and detailed knowledge about the soil properties and its behaviour which forms the fundamental blocks of any foundation system. It consists of several equipments for testing the Geosynthetics materials to determine the tensile, grab puncture and creep testing along with the soil testing equipments.
