Signal Processing and Embedded Control (SPEC) Laboratory

Signal Processing and Embedded Control (SPEC) Laboratory

The Signal processing and embedded control laboratory offers the students to work on the computer installed with wider range of advanced simulation software such as MATLAB, Keil, IAR embedded workbench.  The students will also be exposed to hardware such as 8051, ARM micro controllers, lag compensator, lead compensator, lead-lag compensator, Real time advanced controller (dSPACE), QUBE servo DC Motor, QUBE Servo 2 Rotary Pendulum system.  The students can learn the design, simulation and implementation of various control systems using software and hardware tools.  The features and facilities available in this laboratory help the students to do their projects and enhance their knowledge on the latest trends and technologies of Mechatronics Engineering.

This lab enables the students

  • To enhance their knowledge in programming and interfacing of various processors such as embedded systems using ARM microcontrollers and advanced controllers.
  • To learn the design, simulation and implementation of various control systems using the software and hardware tools.
  • To utilize the features and facilities in the laboratory to carry out the project and thereby enhance their knowledge in recent trends and technologies of Mechatronics Engineering.

OBJECTIVE:

The objective of the lab is

  • To do research and develop the embedded systems platform for future applications.
  • To promote innovative projects and patent them for commercialization.
  • To support knowledge transfer in embedded system design to local manufacturers, as well as to education institutes.
  • To implement the classical compensators and controllers.
