RF Circuits and Devices LAB

RF Circuits and Devices LAB

The mission of this lab is to analyze the basic experiments, like the characteristics of electronic devices and circuits. This is one of the busiest laboratories in terms of utilization. Its overall needs are versatility and generality, in view of the many basic course needs it serves. This is the lab where basic experiments like device characteristics and circuit analysis are performed. The lab also provides insight for the students to design and analyze the characterization of RF and Microwave components by performing basic microwave and optical experiments. This lab is general enough to hold several experiments suitable for giving students enough exposure to enable them to easily adopt experiments in more advanced laboratories in the department. Approximately 600 students per year undertake practical courses in this laboratory.

Specifications

Description

All basic electronic devices, circuits, and their characteristics and applications can be studied. Using these devices, the small electronic circuits can be constructed and checked. In order to introduce the students to the basic components of this lab, it is furnished with advanced CROs, function generators, and digital multimeters. Students can perform practicals on P-N junction diodes, Zener diodes, rectifiers, wave shaping circuits, filters, transistor biasing and their characteristics in different modes, RC-coupled amplifiers and FETs, and microwave and optical experiments are also conducted.
