Plant Biotechnology Laboratory
The laboratory houses equipment for wet heat sterilization and dry heat sterilization, laminar airflow benches, and a temperature- and light controlled walk in incubator.
The Plant Biotechnology Lab at the School of Bioengineering, SRMIST, was set up as a basic facility for Plant Tissue Culture, Plant Molecular Biology and Phytochemistry for conducting academic sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in the B. Tech. and M. Tech. Biotechnology Programs.

The areas of focus include:
- Use the plants as production systems by altering the plant hormones for growth and development.
- Employ different methods for the development of transgenic plants.
- Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying biotic and abiotic stress tolerance
