Networking Lab
The Networking Laboratory in the Department has been designed so that the experiments reinforce the theory covered in lectures while hands-on programming exercises train students to fit into networking positions in industry. This lab provides the necessary facilities to carry out experiments for the course 18ECC303J/15EC405J, with an emphasis on simulation of communication and computer networks. It also facilitates the research scholars pursuit of their research in the field of Networks through simulation analysis and using test beds.
Specifications
This lab consists of 32 computing work stations loaded with NetSim software, and ten LAN Trainer kit.
This lab also houses 7 wireless sensor boards that can be used to create a test bed for wireless sensor networks. Sequential Quantile Developer
Software to simulate and analyze various wired as well as wireless networks is also available in this laboratory.

Description
Emulation of a real network environment is possible through hardware kits and Netsim software. This lab also has a TelosB wireless sensor module, an open source platform designed to enable cutting-edge experimentation for the research community. WSN-MSP430 is the ideal platform for Research to evaluate different routing algorithms and power consumption schemes targeting various WSN applications, and the performance can be analyzed along with GSM gateway connectivity. The Qualnet communications simulation platform is a planning, testing, and training tool that mimics the behavior of real-time communication networks and provides a comprehensive environment for designing protocols, creating and animating network scenarios, and analyzing the performance.
