Microbiology Lab
Antoni Van Leeuwenhoek (1632–1723), a cloth trader from Delft and the father of Microbiology used a homemade microscope to discover both Protists and Bacteria.
Academic laboratory courses have been shown to stimulate student interest in science and to initiate and improve technical skills. For Microbiology, a curriculum was developed as an academic based laboratory course that accompanies a Microbiology lecture course. The course was designed for students to be familiar with microbial structure and characterization. It is an inquiry-based approach to learning, which is essential for understanding science. To perform research in the field of Microbiology, the students could present their hypothesis, experiments, and results in a comprehensive thesis report upon completing their technical training.
