Hand rehabilitation Lab
Hand is the most intrinsic organ of the human body with its anatomical and functional complexity. Occupational Therapists study anatomy of hand through models and practice to perform special hand function evaluation that involves pinch strength, dexterity, In hand manipulation on patients. This lab is a mechanical set-up with high functioning equipment’s and materials requirements like metal cutter, heat guns, heating Owen, thermoplast, etherflex, resin, etc to design and practice splinting. Through guided teaching, students are allowed to design low-cost splints for various upper extremity conditions like tendon injuries, fracture, arthritis, post-surgical splints, etc. Students also through self-learning get their self expertised in other associated modalities like scar mobility and management, hand function rehabilitation and adaptive devices associated with hand functions.
