EDART LAB
The Endocrine Disruption and Reproductive Toxicology (EDART) Laboratory is focused on analysing the acute and chronic effects of EDCs in zebrafish, and rat models.
Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are exogenous substances that interfere with hormone action and contribute to the development of endocrine and metabolic diseases. EDCs are commonly present in cosmetics, household cleaning products, plastic materials, toys, pesticides, paints, etc. It can contribute to multiple effects, such as developmental, metabolic, reproductive, and neurotoxic effects.

Specifications
Zebrafish housing facility, CO2 Incubator, Magnetic Stirrer, Vortex, Spin win, Laminar Airflow, Digital balance, Dry Bath, Hot plate, Refrigerator, Laminar Airflow, -80 freezer
Profile
The lab is also equipped to analyse the EDCs effects in human blood, amniotic fluid, and placenta samples. The main focus of the lab is studying developmental toxicity, reproductive and endocrine dysfunction, neurotoxicity, and transgenerational effects.
