Biochemistry Lab
Biochemistry is the study of biological processes at the cellular and molecular levels using chemistry. It emerged as a distinct discipline at the turn of the 20th century, when scientists combined chemistry, physiology, and biology to study the chemistry of living systems.
The Biochemistry laboratory has emerged as a prominent and necessary component in the preparation of undergraduate students for careers in the molecular life sciences (biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, immunology, microbiology, neurochemistry, etc.). These students must gain extensive laboratory experience working with biomolecules, and a formal lab course is usually the best way to get that experience. This step prepares students for future participation in research at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as jobs in the biotechnological and pharmaceutical industries. Lab is well equipped with the latest instruments and can accommodate a batch of 30 students.
