(1)Industry Connect CDAC
Accelerated computing research group of Department of Computing Technologies organizes a four days “Bridge course on Cloud computing in connection with C-DAC from 20- 23 March 2023”. This course will enable our students to be readily deployable in companies in a futuristic way.
(2)Hands-on Parallel Programming ( OpenMP, MPI, TensorFlow, GPU )
The Accelerated Computing Research Group, Department of Computing Technologies, School of Computing, SRMIST successfully conducted a two-days blended mode national workshop on “Hands on Parallel Programming (OpenMP,MPI,TensorFlow and GPU- NWHPP-2022” during Oct 27-28, 2022. Around 60 participants from various colleges of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Pondicherry were attended this workshop. During this NWHPP-22, there were 5 external resource persons and 1 internal resource person handled the sessions.
(3) 6-days Skill Development Program for Computing Technology Programmers
The Accelerated Computing Research Group, Department of Computing Technologies, School of Computing, SRMIST successfully conducted 6-days Skill Development Program for the programmers of School of Computing from 30.05.2022 to 04.06.2022. Around 35 programmers from School of Computing were attended this SDP. During this SDP, there were 3 external resource persons and 3 internal resource persons trained our programmers on various technologies of computer science including Networking, Cisco routers and switches, Python Programming ,XAMPP, MySQL, PHP and Android App Development. Also, our programmers were given hands-on training on the technologies mentioned.
(4) AI Intensified Scientific Accelerated Computing in Interdisciplinary Applications
Three days national workshop on “AI Intensified Scientific Accelerated Computing in Interdisciplinary Applications” was conducted by Accelerated computing vertical of CTECH department from 11.10.23 to 13.10.23. Resource persons were from different disciplines and the sessions were well received by the audience.
Activities of Accelerated Computing Research Group
A Faculty visit to CDAC has been planned and executed with a faculty team of four on 16th February 2022. C-DAC, Chennai has assured to set up a centre of Excellence at our premises to provide internship offers for students in the domain of Cloud computing, IoT and Data analytics, comprising the Accelerated Computing Architecture.
A Faculty visit to IITDM has been planned and executed with a faculty team of four IIITDM, Kancheepuram has assured to provide expertise in setting up a CoE with a small scale and will support to conduct training programmes to understand basics and applicability of High Performance Computing in projects and in consultancy works.
A visit to IIT Madras, was planned so as to involve the eminent professors of IIT Madras Dr.Madhu Mutyam to initiate the Centre of activities of Accelerated Computing.
