Overview
IT&KM is responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of technology initiatives in support of both academic and administrative operations at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST).
Mission
The mission of ITKM is to Support SRMIST’s vision of emerging a world-class University by –
- Deploying innovative technologies and infrastructure to support faculties and administrators by serving their constituents.
- Enabling access to knowledge resources and supporting the academic community to achieve excellence in delivering high-quality education and research

What we do
The ITKM department serves as the nodal center for all the IT related services, hardware and equipments, softwares and solutions for everybody across SRMIST.

Governance
To achieve the mission and bring transparent and operational efficiency among academic and administrative departments, ITKM pursues directions from the following committee.
IT Steering Committee
Provide Strategic direction, governance, and oversight for IT initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with the SRM IST’s Academic, Research, and Administrative Goals.
IT Purchase Committee
Ensure the purchase process is followed and negotiate with vendors and approve the proposal to proceed with the purchase.
Infra at a Glance
ITKM provides a range of facilities for students, faculty members, and others at SRMIST. These facilities include access to internet through 9.155Gbps shared bandwidth, top-notch IT and e-support services, which encompass email, application support, computing labs, and an IT Helpdesk.
ITKM maintains and supports the infrastructure necessary for the student information system, including email accounts, academic information, examination schedules, hostel booking and transportation, etc.
Organization Structure

IT Service Delivery
IT Service Delivery, responsible for ITKM-ServiceDesk ticketing system, providing technical assistance for questions and problems, IT procurement and inventory management, Biometric time attendance, sending bulk email, Writing and editing training/user manuals, preparing reports to analyze common complaints and problems. Employee onboarding and exit, Taking customer feedback and take necessary steps to improve the customer experience and satisfaction levels.
System Services
System Services, responsible for Installing, configuring, and testing desktop, laptop, operating systems, application software, monitor, printers, scanners, and first-level network issues as per standard operating procedures and coordinating with the various OEM support team for support and warranty replacements, IT asset and software license management.


Technology Services
Technology Services, responsible for planning and implementing IT infrastructure projects, managing datacenter, campus network, servers, security, VPN, Wi-Fi, Internet, email, NetID-SSO services, monitoring IT infrastructure.
Application Services
Application Services, responsible for developing and managing the applications required to collect, organize, analyzes the organization data, and convert them as information to make data-driven decisions
