Dr. Kamalakkannan K
Dr.K.Kamalakkannan, Professor, Department of Automobile Engineering have been working in SRM Institute of Science and Technology for the past 4.5 years . Before he worked as Professor & Head in Hindustan University for more than 13 years. As a faculty, he is a backbone of preparation of India’s first UG syllabi in Automobile Engineering specialization with Motorsports Engineering. He is a Faculty Advisor for Baja, International Baja and FSAE in his Institution. His ability to move the student’s has made him to obtain from Indian Baja 2012 as ‘The Dronocharya’ and Best Faculty Advisor (2011) by SAEINDIA Southern Section. Continuation of his services toward contribution of teaching, research and student development activities he was awarded “Ralph R Teetor Educational Award” April 2015, “Best Faculty Advisor” April 2017 by SAE International at Detroit, USA.
He was instrumental in obtaining the prestigious AICTE -RPS(C) titled “Design & Development of Three Wheeler for Physically Challenged” worth of Rs 6 lakhs and acted as its Principal Investigator.
He was selected to attend the training program in Selected Topics in Automotive Engineering (STiAE) (2016) at Esslingen University, Stuttgart, Germany He was one of the members selected for attending Faculty Induction Education Program (2012) (FINE) organized by Off High-Way Board of SAEINDIA, supported by John Deere, Pune for 15 Days.
His research work involves in Semi-active Suspension System for All terrain Vehicles and he has published 8 International Journals and 15 International Conferences. He is currently guiding 2 full time research scholars.
He is also a member of SAE.
