Dr.A.Duraisamy taught Economics and Econometrics since 1990 at Madras Christian
College, Chennai. Retired as Head of the Department of Economics & Dean of Humanities, MCC. Has been adjudged as the Best Teacher of Economics in Tamilnadu for 2020 by Malcolm Elizabeth Adiseshiah Trust , Chennai. Received the ‘SENIOR ECONOMIST’ award at the 40th Annual Conference of Association of Economist of Tamilnadu.

Dr.Duraisamy has a Ph.D. in Economics from the Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. He did B.Sc. Mathematics and holds a Master’s Degree in Mathematical Economics and M.Phil. in Economics. He also has an M.B.A. Degree. Forty M.Phil. and Twelve Ph.D. scholars have been already awarded degrees under his research guidance and at present guiding Eight Ph.D. scholars. Published research articles in reputed Journals and presented papers at both National and International Conferences. Conducted so far 45 Ph.D. viva voce examinations as an external examiner.  Nominated as an Executive committee member of The Indian Econometric Society (TIES) for the years 2016-17 and for the last Four Years 2019-23 .

Bar Council of India nominated him as a Member of the Inspection Committee to approve courses of Humanities offered by Law Colleges in India. Successfully Organised the 39th Annual Conference of Association of Economists of Tamilnadu on 21st and 22nd December 2018 at Madras Christian College, Chennai as Organizing Secretary with 350 Participants. Organised a National Conference on Growth with Stability, in association with The Indian Econometric Society at Madras Christian College, Chennai on 22nd November 2019 as Local Organizing Secretary.

Organised a Two-day workshop on ‘Econometrics Using R’ in MCC on the 6th, and 7th
March 2020. Specialized in teaching Mathematical Economics, Econometrics, Statistics,
Quantitative Techniques, and Research Methodology. Conducted around 60 workshops on Data Analysis using statistical packages like SPSS and E – Views, through which at least 2000 Research scholars of Humanities have benefited in strengthening their research analysis.
