Dr. B. GOPU hail from Ozhalai village, Ranipettai District, Tamil Nadu is presently working as an Assistant Professor (Horticulture), in the SRM College of Agricultural Sciences, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu. He obtained his B.Sc. (Hort.), M.Sc. (Hort.), and Ph.D. in Fruit Science degrees in the year 2009, 2011, and 2015 respectively, from the prestigious Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore, summa cum laude. His significant contribution in the field of Horticulture has bagged him many awards, and proudly he is the recipient of the Jain Research Fellowship for both his M.Sc. (Horticulture) and Ph.D. (Horticulture) programs. In addition, the author has received Kanwar Virender Singh Memorial All India Best Publication Award in Fruit Science for the year 2018 and Young Scientist Award 2016. He has also qualified for ICAR–NET conducted by ASRB, New Delhi. With his credentials and work ethics, having more than seven years of teaching experience, he created seamless processes that were undeniably close to genius and being an inspiration to the students. As an eminent scientist taking fruit science as his major, he has published about sixteen research papers in various National and International Journals in Fruit Science. He has contributed to two books and one book chapter. His work has appeared in reputed magazines as popular articles.
