SRM College of Occupational Therapy organized the World Occupational Therapy Day Celebration 2024 and COTE themed on “Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation Services for Persons with Spinal Cord Injury: an overview” on 26th of November 2024 at Hippocrates Auditorium, SRMIST. A total of 343 students of SRM College of Occupational Therapy participated in the program.
The program was inaugurated by our honorable Pro Vice-Chancellor in charge, Medical, and Health Sciences, Dr. Nithin M Nagarkar sir, and Dr. Lt. Col. A. Ravikumar sir, Advisor, SRM MCH & RC, SRMIST. Dr. U. Ganapathy Sankar, Dean, SRM College of Occupational Therapy, SRMIST delivered the welcome address. Esteemed Dr. Nithin M Nagarkar, Pro Vice-Chancellor in-charge, Medical and Health Sciences, SRMIST delivered the Presidential address for the program.
The special address was delivered by our honorable Dr. Lt. Col. A. Ravikumar, Advisor, SRM MCH & RC, SRMIST. Our esteemed alumnus Dr. Sureshkumar Kamalakannan sir, Associate Professor of Health Policy and System Research, Northumbria University delivered the Guest of Honor address for the program. Respected Mr. Anbarasu. D sir, Clinical Coordinator, Associate Professor, SRM College of Occupational Therapy introduced the chief guest for the program. The chief guest, respected Mr. S. Samuel Kamaleshkumar sir, Professor & In-Charge, Occupational Therapy Services, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Christan Medical College, Vellore delivered the chief guest address for the inaugural program.
Mr. S. Samuel Kamaleshkumar sir presented an illuminating session on the topic “Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation Services for Persons with Spinal Cord Injury: An Overview” for the students of SRM College of Occupational Therapy. The program came to an end with the Vote of Thanks delivered by our respected Mrs. Grace Lydia Sarojini. D, Vice Principal, SRM College of Occupational Therapy, SRMIST.
