Summer Training Programme in Molecular Biology Techniques

“The SRM-DBT Platform for Advanced Life Science Technologies invites applications from motivated and inquisitive students for a Summer Training Programme in Molecular Biology Techniques, to be held from June 9 to June 20, 2025.

This two-week training aims to offer an enriching and hands-on learning experience, helping students gain technical proficiency and research confidence in the field of molecular biology and genetics. Through this programme, participants will explore core laboratory techniques including DNA/RNA extraction, gene expression analysis, microbial identification, and mutation analysis — all designed to prepare them for real-world research environments.

The training modules cover a wide range of techniques such as Real-Time PCR (featuring RNA isolation, cDNA synthesis, gene expression studies, and troubleshooting), Sanger Sequencing (involving DNA isolation, colony PCR, microbial identification, and mutation analysis), and MALDI-TOF for rapid microbial identification.

With a strong emphasis on experiential learning and data analysis, the programme ensures a comprehensive understanding of each technique. The training fee is Rs. 10,000/-, and seats are limited to maintain a quality learning environment. Interested candidates are encouraged to scan the QR code to register. The programme is coordinated by Dr. M. Parani, Ph.D., and will be conducted at the SRM-DBT Platform, First Floor, Sir C. V. Raman Research Park, SRMIST, Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu – 603203.”
