We were delighted to welcome our esteemed alumnus, Mr. Jayachandran Vetrayan, MOT, MSc (Psychology), currently serving at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Riyadh, back to his alma mater at SRM College of Occupational Therapy – Kattankulathur.
During his visit, Mr. Jayachandran Vetrayan toured the Occupational Therapy Clinics at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre. He was impressed with the structured and client-centred approach followed across various clinical units. He appreciated the dedicated efforts taken by the faculty and students in providing quality occupational therapy services.
He expressed high regard for the Autism Centre of Excellence, acknowledging it as a significant step towards advancing paediatric rehabilitation and autism-specific intervention strategies. He noted the clinic’s multidisciplinary approach, child-friendly environment, and innovative therapy techniques, stating that it reflected global standards in autism care.
In addition to this, he also visited the Orthopaedics, Neurology, and Psychiatry Occupational Therapy Units, where he witnessed, the diverse therapeutic services being provided to individuals across the lifespan.
Mr. Jayachandran Vetrayan shared his words of encouragement and professional insights with the students and faculty, motivating them to uphold excellence in both clinical practice and academic pursuits. His visit was not only a moment of pride for the institution but also a source of inspiration for the upcoming generation of occupational therapy professionals.
