The Department of Nursing, SRM College of Nursing (SRMCON), proudly organized an insightful Alumni Talk on March 11, 2025, conducted via Zoom. The virtual session ran from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM and brought together 95 students from the B.Sc. Nursing VI Semester, offering them a unique opportunity to engage with a distinguished alumna and gain global perspectives on nursing practice.
The highlight of the session was the keynote address by Ms. Suganya Mani, an accomplished alumna from the Class of 2008, currently serving as a Senior Critical Care Nurse in London, United Kingdom. Ms. Suganya shared her rich professional journey, shedding light on the structure and functioning of the healthcare system in the UK. Her presentation was both dynamic and deeply informative, leaving a strong impression on the students. She also fondly recollected her formative years at SRMCON, acknowledging the foundational role the institution played in shaping her career.
The session began with a special address by Dr. Helan Shaji, Dean, SRM College of Nursing, who welcomed the speaker and students with her inspiring words. She emphasized the importance of alumni engagement in mentoring current students and encouraged them to aim high in their academic and professional pursuits.
The alumni talk fostered a vibrant sense of community, belonging, and pride, reinforcing the strong ties between SRMCON and its alumni network. Students expressed enthusiastic feedback, describing the session as “very dynamic, detailed, and highly informative.” The exposure to global nursing practices and real-world experiences greatly enriched their understanding of the profession.
The event was coordinated by Mrs. Geetha K., Assistant Professor, SRMCON, who ensured its smooth execution. All required formalities, including the submission of the DAA Google Form, were duly completed.
This successful alumni interaction marks yet another milestone in SRMCON’s ongoing commitment to nurturing future healthcare leaders through meaningful alumni engagement and global exposure.
