The Department of Pharmacology, SRM College of Pharmacy, SRMIST, successfully organized the National Pharmacology Day 2025 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Col. Sir Ram Nath Chopra, the “Father of Indian Pharmacology.” The event highlighted the journey of pharmacologists in bridging drug discovery to therapeutic cure and attracted enthusiastic participation from students, research scholars, and faculty across India.

- E-Poster Contest
The contest invited submissions from UG, PG, and research scholars on themes related to the importance of pharmacology, drug safety, and advancements in healthcare.
A wide range of creative and scientifically enriched posters were submitted, demonstrating students’ innovative ideas and research perspectives.
The winning entries were appreciated for their originality, clarity, and relevance to the theme.

- Quiz Contest
A timed online quiz was conducted covering core areas of pharmacology including pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, therapeutic applications, and the history of the discipline.
Students showcased their knowledge and competitive spirit, with active participation across multiple institutions.
The top scorers were recognized with certificates of merit.

- Online Seminar
The seminar began with a welcome address by Dr. V. Chitra, Dean, SRM College of Pharmacy, followed by an introduction of the theme.

- Mr. R. Lokesh, Senior Tech Lead, HCLTech, Chennai.
The speakers delivered insightful sessions covering the evolution of pharmacology, challenges in drug discovery, modern therapeutic strategies, and industry perspectives on drug development.
The seminar concluded with an engaging Q&A session where participants interacted with the experts. A total of 100 students of B.Pharmacy, M.Pharmacy (Pharmacology) and Ph.D Scholars attended the program. The event effectively captured the essence of the theme “From Discovery to Cure: The Pharmacologist’s Journey.”
