SRM College of Nursing, SRMIST – Kattankulathur Campus successfully conducted an inspiring alumni talk on 21st August 2024 in offline mode, attended by 97 B.Sc Nursing III year (V Semester) students along with faculty members. As part of the institution’s ongoing initiative to bridge the gap between academia and real-world career opportunities, the session aimed to connect current students with successful alumni for guidance and mentorship. The event featured Mrs. Anupritha K., a distinguished alumna from the 2008 batch, who is the Founder and CEO of Virtue Medic Health Care Services, Chennai. With her academic credentials, including an MBA and an MD in Alternative Medicine, she delivered a powerful presentation titled “Career Guidance in Germany – An Overview,” sharing her journey and offering deep insights into international healthcare career opportunities, especially in Germany.
The session further benefitted from the expertise of Ms. Swarnalatha Anand, MBA, MSc Psychology, and Founder of Elyonder Educational Service, who joined as a guest contributor. She highlighted the procedural aspects of university registration, placement assistance, and collaborations with German healthcare organizations, offering students a clear understanding of the pathways to work abroad. Both speakers emphasized the value of global exposure, academic excellence, and skill development, encouraging students to consider career opportunities beyond national borders. Their engaging and informative presentations aligned with SRM’s mission to prepare students for success in a globally competitive environment.
Dr. Vijayalakshmi, Dean In-Charge, felicitated the guest speakers and acknowledged their commitment to mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals. She appreciated the initiative as a significant step toward global career preparedness and lauded the alumni for giving back to their alma mater. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. V. Priya, M.Sc (N), Assistant Professor. The session received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the students, who described it as motivating, informative, and highly relevant to their future goals.
