Dr. Olga Safonkina, Vice Dean, International Cooperation, Faculty of Foreign Languages Associate Director, Dept. of English & Philology, Ogarev Mordovia State University, Russia, gave an expert talk on the topic “Foreign Language Didactics” on February 16, 2024, in University Building Room no 1101. . She focused on how students are afraid of learning a new language due to the fear of failure. To make them feel confident with learning a new language, the speaker spoke with the young researchers on how to overcome this fear and make them feel confident learning a new language. The highlights of the talk include Foreign Language Didactics, Lev Vygotsky: Sociocultural Theory of Cognitive Development, and Cognitive Load Theory (CLT) in Foreign Language Teaching through the Lenses of Behaviourism, Constructivism, and Connectivism in Foreign Language Teaching.
