The Department of Automobile Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has successfully inaugurated a 5-day Short Term Course on Motorcycle Race Engineering and ECU Tuning, running from October 21 to October 25, 2024. This exclusive, hands-on course is designed to provide participants with real-world experience by working on 300cc track bikes, bridging the gap between theory and practical application in motorsports engineering.
The inauguration ceremony took place in the Automobile Engineering Seminar Hall, graced by Ms. Mira Erda, one of India’s first female Formula 4 drivers. Ms. Erda, who has a prominent place in the racing world, shared her journey in motorsports, motivating participants with her words of encouragement and passion for engineering excellence in the field.
The program will reach its peak on October 24 and 25, with exciting highlights planned for the final days. On October 25, three trained race bike drivers will perform field trials in front of Tech Park Avenue, showcasing live demonstrations of motorcycle race engineering in action.
This course is a unique opportunity for participants to delve into the cutting-edge technology of race engineering, gaining hands-on experience that is invaluable in the fast-evolving automotive industry.
