EFL Outreach Workshop Series – Teacher Development Series I

The outreach program, held on August 30th and 31st, 2024, at Christ King Girls Higher Secondary School, focussed on promoting SDG4 and SDG5 among the Teachers. The program started with 67 participants, and with the resource persons, Dr. L. Kavitha Nair, HOD, EFL-SRMIST, Dr. Uma Maheswari M.M, Dr. S Bhargavi, and Dr. R. Latha . The headmistress of Christ King Girls Higher Secondary School was also present for all four sessions.

The first session started on Aug. 30th, at 2 pm. The beginning session “Improving listening and reading skills-Collaborating with English teachers” was conducted by Dr. Uma Maheswari.  The second day started at 9:30 am with the opening session by Dr. S Bhargavi about “Improving speaking and writing skills-Collaborating with English teachers”, the next session was followed by Dr. R. Latha about “Demonstration on providing meanings to keywords before teaching a text “ and the fourth session was completed by Dr. L.Kavitha Nair on “Gender Equity in academic and social contexts “. The final event of the day was from 3 pm to 4 pm. It started with feedback sessions, and the Headmistress thanked the program coordinators and the resource persons who made an engaging knowledge-sharing session. Certificates were distributed to the participants who were present for all 4 sessions.
