In commemoration of World Pharmacists’ Day, the NSS Unit of SRM College of Pharmacy, SRMIST, organized a blood donation camp with the support of SRM Hospital Transfusion Medicine & Blood Centre.
The blood donation camp, held at SRM Transfusion Medicine & Blood Centre, Kattankulathur, commenced promptly at 9:30 AM on Thursday, 19th September 2024. The event began with a warm welcome address by Dr. M. Jagadeesan, the NSS Program Officer of SRM College of Pharmacy. A special address was delivered by Dr. V. Chitra, Dean of SRM College of Pharmacy, highlighting the vital role academic institutions play in fostering a sense of social responsibility among students.
The event also saw the gracious participation of NSS team members Dr. S. Sarumathy, Dr. K. Gowri, Dr. B. Shanthakumar, and Mrs. K. Gayathri and Dr N Sai Supra Sidhu. Around 75 student volunteers expressed willingness to donate blood, and after eligibility screening, approximately 55 successfully donated.
The event concluded on a positive note with a vote of thanks.
