SRM College of Occupational Therapy organized an Anti-Drug Pledge programme for the MOT 1st Semester and BOT 5th Semester students. A total of 140 students actively participated in the initiative, reflecting their commitment towards building a healthy and drug-free society.
The event commenced under the leadership of respected Dr. U. Ganapathy Sankar, Ph.D., Dean, SRM College of Occupational Therapy, who addressed the students on the importance of making responsible life choices and the critical role of youth in preventing substance abuse. His motivational words emphasized the physical, mental, and social consequences of drug addiction, inspiring students to uphold the values of self-discipline and healthy living.
Following this, our Anti – Drug Committee member respected Mrs. Grace Lydia Sarojini, Vice Principal, SRM College of Occupational Therapy highlighted the collective responsibility of students and healthcare professionals in spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drugs, both within the community and in their future professional practice.
Further, our Anti – Drug Committee member respected Mr. D. Anbarasu, Associate Professor, SRM College of Occupational Therapy encouraged students to stand firm against peer pressure and to act as ambassadors of positive change in society.
All participants then solemnly took the Anti-Drug Pledge, promising to stay away from drugs and to spread the message of prevention and awareness. The event concluded with a sense of unity, responsibility, and commitment towards a drug-free future.
