Prof. Ayman EL-Refaie

Prof. Ayman EL-Refaie

Ayman M. EL-Refaie received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2002 and 2005, respectively. Between 2005 and 2016 he has been a principal engineer and a project leader at the Electrical Machines and Drives Lab at General Electric Global Research Center. His research interests include electrical machines and drives. Since January 2017, he joined Marquette University as the Werner Endowed Chair for Energy Sustainability. He has over 160 journal and conference publications. He has 48 issued US patents.,At GE, he worked on several projects that involve the development of advanced electrical machines for various applications including aerospace, traction, wind, and water desalination. He was the chair for the IEEE IAS Transportation Systems committee and an associate editor for the Electric Machines committee. He was a technical program chair for the IEEE 2011 Energy Conversion Conference and Exposition (ECCE). He was the general chair for ECCE 2014 and 2015 ECCE steering committee chair. He was the general chair of IEMDC 2019. He is the past chair of the IEEE IAS Industrial Power Conversion Systems Department and currently he is the IEEE Industry Applications Society Publications Department chair.

Prof. Bimal K. Bose

Bimal K. Bose (S'59–M'60–SM'78–F'89–LF'96) received the B.E. degree from Bengal Engineering College (currently Bengal Engineering and Science University), Calcutta, India, in 1956, the M.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1960, and the Ph.D. degree from Calcutta University, Calcutta, in 1966.,Since 1987, has held the Condra Chair of Excellence (Endowed Chair) in power electronics with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he is responsible for the teaching and research program in power electronics and motor drives. Concurrently, he served as the Distinguished Scientist (1989–2000) and Chief Scientist (1987–1989) of Electric Power Research Institute, Power Electronics Applications Center, Knoxville. Prior to this, he was a Research Engineer with the General Electric (GE) Corporate Research and Development Center (currently GE Global Research Center), Schenectady, NY, for 11 years (1976–1987), an Associate Professor of electrical engineering with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY, for five years (1971–1976), and a Faculty Member with Bengal Engineering and Science University for 11 years (1960–1971). He has specialized in power electronics and motor drives, specially including power converters, pulsewidth modulation techniques, microcomputer/DSP control, electric/hybrid vehicle drives, renewable energy systems, and artificial intelligence (expert system, fuzzy logic, and neural network) applications in power electronics and motor drives. He has been a Power Electronics Consultant in a large number of industries. He is the holder of an Honorary Professorship with Shanghai University (1991), China University of Mining and Technology (1995), X'ian Mining University (1998) (also an Honorary Director of the Electrical Engineering Institute), and Huazhong University of Science and Technology (2002). He has authored more than 200 papers and is the holder of 21 U.S. patents. He has authored/edited seven books in power electronics: Power Electronics and Motor Drives—Advances and Trends (New York: Academic, 2006), Modern Power Electronics and AC Drives (Englewood Cliffs, NJ: Prentice-Hall, 2002), Power Electronics and AC Drives (Englewood Cliffs, NJ: Prentice-Hall, 1986), Power Electronics and Variable Frequency Drives (New York: Wiley, 1997), Modern Power Electronics (Piscataway, NJ: IEEE Press, 1992), Microcomputer Control of Power Electronics and Drives (Piscataway, NJ: IEEE Press, 1997), and Adjustable Speed AC Drive Systems (Piscataway, NJ: IEEE Press, 1981). He has given tutorials, keynote addresses, and invited seminars extensively throughout the world, particularly in IEEE-sponsored programs and conferences., Dr. Bose is a recipient of a number of awards and honors that include IEEE Power Electronics Society Newell Award (2005), IEEE Millennium Medal (2000), IEEE Meritorious Achievement Award in Continuing Education (1997), IEEE Lamme Gold Medal (1996), IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) Eugene Mittelmann Award for lifetime achievement in power electronics and motor drives (1994), IEEE Region 3 Outstanding Engineer Award (1994), IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) Outstanding Achievement Award (1993), Calcutta University Mouat Gold (1970), GE Silver Patent Medal (1986), GE Publication Award (1985), and the Distinguished Alumnus Award (2006) from Bengal Engineering and Science University. He has served the IEEE in various capacities, including Chair of the IEEE IES Power Electronics Council, Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE-IECON Power Electronics Chair, Chair of the IEEE IAS Industrial Power Converter Committee, IAS member of the Neural Network Council, Vice-Chair of the IEEE Medals Council, member of IEEE Energy Policy Committee, member of the IEEE Fellow Committee, member of Lamme Medal Committee, and a Distinguished Lecturer of both the IAS and IES, and is currently the Vice-Chair of the IAS Distinguished Lecturer Program. He has been a member of the editorial board of Proceedings of the IEEE since 1995 and Journal of Intelligent and Fuzzy Systems since 2001. He was the guest editor of the Proceedings of the IEEE “Special Issue on Power Electronics and Motion Control” (August 1994).

Brad Lehman (M'92-SM'08) is currently a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Northeastern University, Boston, MA, USA, and was earlier a Hearin Hess Distinguished Assistant Professor at Mississippi State University. His research interests include power electronics, with emphasis on the modeling, design, and control of high density dc-dc converters with applications in solar energy, LED lighting, battery chargers, and telecommunication power supplies. He also performs research in solar forecasting, solar PV grid integration and fault detection, and fault current limiters. He is Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON POWER ELECTRONICS and is the recipient of the 2015 IEEE Power Electronics Society Modeling and Control Technical Achievement Award. He was highlighted in the inaugural edition of the book The 300 Best Professors, Princeton Review, 2012. He was previously an NSF Presidential Faculty Fellow, an Alcoa Science Foundation Fellow, and a Visiting Scientist at MIT. He also previously chaired the IEEE LED lighting standards group (PAR1789) to help produce the 2015 published recommended practice for LED lighting flicker. For this work, he was recognized with a IEEE 2016 Standards Medallion. Prior to his career as a professor, he served as the Head Coach of the nationally ranked varsity Georgia Institute of Technology swimming and diving team and served as a technical consultant in the design of the 1996 Olympic swimming warm-up pool in Atlanta, GA. He has a limited understanding of Mandarin Chinese and occasionally attempts to speak "Chin-glish", which to him is Chinese, but to his Chinese colleagues and students is a mixture of Chinese and English, spoken in a southern accent.

Kaushik Rajashekara is a globally recognized engineer and academic, currently serving as a Distinguished Professor of Engineering at the University of Houston's Cullen College of Engineering. Born in a small village in India, he overcame early challenges, studying by kerosene lamp in a one-room home, driven by his mother's unwavering commitment to education. He earned his B.Eng., M.Eng., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and later obtained an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University. His professional journey includes pivotal roles at Delphi and General Motors, where he led the development of electric, hybrid, and fuel cell vehicle systems. At Rolls-Royce Corporation, he served as Chief Technologist, focusing on electric and hybrid-electric aircraft architectures. Before joining the University of Houston in 2016, he was a Distinguished Professor at the University of Texas at Dallas. He have been recognized with numerous honors, including election to the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, the Indian National Academy of Engineering, and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He has received prestigious awards such as the 2022 Global Energy Prize, the IEEE Medal on Environmental and Safety Technologies, and the IEEE Richard Harold Kaufmann Award. With over 250 publications and 50 patents, his work continues to influence the fields of power conversion and transportation electrification.

Prof. Ganesh Kumar Venayagamoorthy Ganesh Kumar Venayagamoorthy is a prominent figure in the field of electrical and computer engineering, currently serving as the Duke Energy Distinguished Professor of Power Engineering at Clemson University. His academic journey began with a B.Eng. (Honors) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Nigeria. He furthered his studies at the University of Natal (now the University of KwaZulu-Natal) in South Africa, obtaining both his M.Sc.Eng. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. In 2016, he earned an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Clemson University. He began as a Senior Lecturer at the Durban University of Technology in South Africa, where he also held the position of Research Chair for the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment. In 2002, he joined the Missouri University of Science and Technology, progressing from Assistant Professor to full Professor over nearly a decade. Since 2012, he has been a faculty member at Clemson University A pioneer in integrating artificial intelligence with power systems, Dr. Venayagamoorthy founded the Real-Time Power and Intelligent Systems Laboratory in 2004. His research focuses on developing advanced computational algorithms for smart grid applications, including power system stability, optimization, and intelligent monitoring. His contributions have been recognized globally. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, honored for his work in applying artificial intelligence to power systems , and also holds fellowships with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE), and the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA) . Additionally, he serves as Vice-President for Industry Relations and Governor-at-Large for the International Neural Network Society (INNS). In 2024, Dr. Venayagamoorthy was selected as a Fulbright Scholar, returning to South Africa to collaborate with the University of Pretoria on renewable energy research and to assist in addressing the country's energy challenges. His dedication to education, research, and international collaboration continues to make a significant impact in the realm of power engineering and artificial intelligence.

Prof. Tsorng - Juu Liang

Prof. Tsorng - Juu Liang

Tsorng-Juu Liang is a distinguished professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Taiwan, renowned for his extensive contributions to power electronics and sustainable energy systems. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri and began his academic career as an assistant research fellow at the university's Power Electronics Research Center from 1990 to 1993. He then served as an associate professor at I-Shou University before joining NCKU in 1998. At NCKU, he progressed from assistant professor to full professor by 2004 and was honored as a distinguished professor in 2014. Beyond teaching, Professor Liang has held several key administrative positions, including Vice Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science since 2016, and Associate Vice President of the Office of Research and Development. He also chairs the Green Energy Electronic Research Center and has been a research fellow at the Engineering and Technology Promotion Center since 2010. His leadership extends to professional organizations, having served as Chair of the IEEE Tainan Section from 2016 to 2017 and being named an IEEE Fellow in 2016. His research focuses on industrial electronics, motor drives, power electronics, and power integrated circuit design. He has published over 80 SCI journal articles and more than 170 conference papers, accumulating over 13,000 citations on Google Scholar. His innovative work has led to 49 domestic and international patents. He has mentored 25 Ph.D. students and over 200 master's students, contributing significantly to the academic community. Additionally, he has led more than 100 large-scale national and industrial projects, developing novel technologies in converters, lighting, and photovoltaic maximum power tracking, which have been instrumental in advancing industry applications. He has served as an independent board director for several technology companies, including Compucase Enterprise Co., Ltd., Catcher Technology Co., Ltd., Lead trend Technology Co., Ltd., and EPILEDS Technology Co., Ltd., reflecting his influence beyond academia. His multifaceted career underscores his commitment to advancing electrical engineering education, research, and industry collaboration.

He is a Full Professor in Electrical Power Engineering at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, and Cybernetics, University of South-Eastern Norway, Norway. He has authored over 750+ scientific papers and received the Best Paper cum Most Excellence Research Paper Award from IET-SEISCON’13, IET-CEAT’16, IEEE-EECSI’19, IEEE-CENCON’19, and five best paper awards from ETAEERE’16 sponsored Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering, Springer book. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, India, the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, India, and the Institution of Engineering and Technology, U.K. He received a lifetime achievement award from Marquis Who’s Who - USA 2017 for contributing to power electronics and renewable energy research. Prof. Sze Sing Lee

Dr. Sze Sing Lee is an Assistant Professor and the Degree Programme Director of Electrical Power Engineering at Newcastle University in Singapore. He earned his B.Eng. (Hons.) and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2010 and 2013, respectively. From 2014 to 2019, he served as a Lecturer and Assistant Professor at the University of Southampton Malaysia Campus. Between 2018 and 2019, he was a Visiting Research Professor at Ajou University in South Korea. He is a Chartered Engineer registered with the Engineering Council, UK, and a Senior Member of the IEEE. He contributes to the academic community as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics and IEEE Access, and as a Guest Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics. His research focuses on power electronics, particularly in the areas of multilevel inverters, modular multilevel converters, and impedance source converters. Dr. Lee has been recognized among the world's top 2% scientists in Electrical & Electronic Engineering by Stanford University from 2020 to 2024. His scholarly work includes over 50 publications, with notable contributions to the development of advanced inverter topologies and control strategies. Additionally, he is involved in collaborative research projects, such as the development of hybrid energy storage systems in partnership with VFlowTech.

Amit Kumar Gupta, is worked for Bechtel Corporation, during 2000-12, Samsung Heavy Industries, Delphi Automotive Systems and Vestas Wind Systems. Since August 2012, he has been Chief of Rolls-Royce Electrical (RRE) at Rolls-Royce Singapore Pte Ltd. He is Director of the Electrical Programme at Rolls-Royce@NTU Corporate lab. To date he has been granted 22 patents and filed another 21 patents. He has also published more than 70 papers in international conferences and journals. He is an Adjunct Professor with ECE, NUS and EEE, NTU. He holds a six sigma Green Belt Certificate from Delphi Automotive Systems and trained in six sigma Black Belt techniques through Vestas Wind Systems. He received 2016 IEEE R10 Industry-Academia collaboration award for developing world class electrical R&T lab EPSIL@N. He was runner up in 2015 Rolls-Royce Engineering & Technology (E&T) Technical Awards. He is a recipient of Vestas Innovation excellence award for being top 5 innovators of Vestas Global Research. He is a recipient of the Prize paper from the IEEE Industrial Applications Society’s (IAS) - Industrial Power Converter Committee (IPCC) for 2005. He is an Associate Editor for IEEE Transitions on Power Electronics and plays an active role in organizing electrical power engineering conferences in Asia. Prof. Akshay KumarRathore Akshay Kumar Rathore (IEEE Fellow) is an expert in power electronics and control of electrical motor drives. He received the Gold Medal for securing the highest academic standing in his Master’s degree among all electrical engineering specializations at Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi, India. He had two subsequent postdoctoral research appointments with the University of Wuppertal, Germany (2008-2009), and the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA (2009-2010). From November 2010 to February 2016, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore. From March 2016-Dec 2021, he served as an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Concordia University, Montreal, Canada where he was listed in the Provost Circle of Distinction in 2021. He served as Graduate Program Director and Chair of Graduate Awards during 2020-21. His research is mainly focused on the analysis and design of novel current-fed converters (topologies and modulation), softswitching design and modulation schemes for the dc/dc converters, pulsating DC link (electrolytic capacitorless) inverters, and control of multilevel inverters. He supervised 11 PhD theses and 14 MASc (research) theses. Dr. Rathore is a recipient of the 2013 IEEE IAS Andrew W. Smith Outstanding Young Member Achievement Award, 2014 Isao Takahashi Power Electronics Award, 2017 IEEE IES David Irwin Early Career Award, 2019 IEEE IES Publications Service Recognition Award, 2020 IEEE IAS Outstanding Area Chair Award, 2020 IEEE Bimal Bose Award for Industrial Electronics Applications in Energy Systems and 2021 Nagamori Award. He published about 285 research papers in international journals and conferences, including 96 IEEE TRANSACTIONS. He is currently serving as the Awards Department Chair of the IEEE Industry Applications Society, AdCom Member-atLarge and Fellow Evaluation Committee member of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society. He is serving as the Chair of IEEE IAS Renewable and Sustainable Energy Conversion Systems Committee. He led and chaired the IEEE IAS Industrial Automation and Control Committee (2018-19) and IEEE IAS Technical Committee on Transportation Electrification (2016-17). Josiah L. Munda is a distinguished academic and researcher in electrical engineering, currently serving as a Professor and Assistant Dean for Postgraduate Studies, Research, and Innovation at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in Pretoria, South Africa. He earned his M.Sc. in Electric Power Supply from Tver State Technical University in 1991 and completed his Doctor of Engineering (D.Eng.) in Electrical Engineering at the University of the Ryukyus, Japan, in 2002, focusing his thesis on transient stability and fuzzy control of hybrid power systems. Since joining TUT in 2004, Prof. Munda has held several key positions, including Director of the Centre for Energy and Electric Power, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Acting Executive Dean of both the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology and the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment, and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment. His leadership has been instrumental in fostering multidisciplinary collaboration and aligning academic programs with industry needs. Prof. Munda's research interests encompass power system analysis, energy efficiency, demand-side management, microgrids, distributed generation, green energy systems, and intelligent control. He has authored or co-authored over 225 publications in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and international conference proceedings. His scholarly impact is reflected in his h-index of 32 and over 4,000 citations, placing him among the top 3% of scientists globally in his field. In addition to his academic roles, Prof. Munda has contributed significantly to professional organizations. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE), and a registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). Prof. Joseph Olorunfemi Ojo

Prof. Joseph Olorunfemi Ojo obtained his B.Eng and M.Eng degree in Electrical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1977 and 1980. He thereafter proceeded to University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA where he obtained Ph.D in Electrical Engineering in 1987 respectively. On completion of his graduate studies in Wisconsin, he served as a Lecturer in Department of Electrical Engineering at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, between 1978 and 1982. In 1982-1988, he was appointed as a Teaching and Research Assistant and Research Associate, Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA. In 1988, he joined Tennessee Technology University, Cookeville, Tennessee where he rose to become Professor of Electrical Engineering 1n 1998. He was later appointed to the TVA chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2009 to date. Professor Ojo had made significant contributions to the understanding and analysis of dual stator electric machines and power electronic converters. They are now used for high power Megawatt range sensitive renewable power generation, all electric ships and aircrafts. He developed the vector control schemes of the machines, through which the maximization and selection of the air-gap flux results in the attainment of maximum torque. His work, funded by the U.S. Office of Naval Research (ONR), provides the basis for the selection of appropriate motor drives and generators for the proposed U.S. all electric Naval ships and enables the recent exploration of the dual winding induction machine for MW offshore wind power generation in Scotland and marine power generation in China. Prof. Ojo 1995 research which outline the process of self-excitation and de-excitation of the induction generators, using concepts of system bifurcations have opened up the possibility of understanding the operability regimes and the role of converters in enhancing and regulating generator operations. Research on the application of nonlinear dynamics on the Nigerian Electric Power Systems (Funded by the U.S. National Foundation) has revealed factors leading to perennial voltage collapse, technical reasons why Lagos could not be supplied with adequate power even if there is enough generation and remedial actions to be taken to ensure reliable and adequate power supply in the country. Prof. Atif Iqbal Atif Iqbal (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. (Gold Medal) and M.Sc. (power system and drives) degrees in engineering from the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, India, in 1991 and 1996, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool, U.K., in 2006. He received the Ph.D. degree in the U.K. He is an Associate Professor of electrical engineering with Qatar University. He is also a former Full Professor of electrical engineering with AMU, Aligarh. He has been employed as a Lecturer with the Department of Electrical Engineering, AMU, Aligarh, since 1991, where he served as a Full Professor, until August 2016. He was a recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Merit Award AY and the Research Excellence Award at Qatar University, Doha, Qatar, from 2014 to 2015, and the Maulana Tufail Ahmad Gold Medal for standing first at the B.Sc. engineering exams with AMU. He has received best research articles including the IEEE ICIT 2013, IET-SEISCON 2013, and SIGMA 2018. He has published widely his research findings related to power electronics and renewable energy sources in international journals and conferences. He has authored/coauthored more than 300 research articles, one book, and three chapters in two other books. He is a Fellow the IET U.K., and IE, India. He has supervised several large research and development projects. His research interests include modeling and simulation of power electronic converters, control of multi-phase motor drives and renewable energy sources, solar photovoltaic systems, and metaheuristic algorithms. He is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transaction on Industry Application and the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Electrical Engineering (i’manager).

Prof. Sheldon S. Williamson Sheldon S. Williamson (S’01–M’06–SM’13) received the bachelor's of engineering (B.E.) degree in electrical engineering with high distinction from University of Mumbai, Mumbai, India, in 1999. He received the master's of science (M.S.) degree in 2002, and the doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) degree (with Hons.) in 2006, both in electrical engineering, from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL, USA, specializing in automotive power electronics and motor drives, at the Grainger Power Electronics and Motor Drives Laboratory. He is an Associate Professor and NSERC Canada Research Chair in Transportation Electrification and Electric Energy Storage Systems, within the Department of Electrical, Computer, and Software Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, at the University of Ontario-Institute of Technology, Oshawa, ON, USA. From 2006 to 2014, he was with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Concordia University, Montreal, QC, Canada. His main research interests include the study and analysis of electric drive trains for electric, hybrid electric, plug-in hybrid electric, and fuel cell vehicles. His research interests also include modeling, analysis, design, and control of power electronic converters and motor drives for land, sea, air, and space vehicles, as well as the power electronic interface and control of renewable energy systems. Dr. Williamson currently serves as a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS). He also serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, the IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification, and the IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics.

Dr. Nikita Hari is a multi-award-winning engineering educator, researcher and entrepreneur whose multi-continental career bridges leading global universities and industry. She earned her PhD in Engineering at the University of Cambridge and held the Schlumberger Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Oxford.

She is currently the Head of Teaching & Research Design Support Group in the Department of engineering Science, University of Oxford, directing practical learning across all engineering disciplines.

Her 16-year portfolio integrates engineering scholarship, leadership and enterprise. At the UK’s first industry bridged university - the ‘Dyson Institute’, she reimagined the undergraduate curriculum around problem-based learning embedded in industrial practice. As a global consultant with UCL’s Centre for Engineering Education. she secured a Global Engagement Fund grant to launch an India -UK systems-engineering based capacity-building program aligned with the UN SDGs and India’s NEP- 2020. She additionally co-founded two AI EdTech startups - Wudi and Favalley -that democratizes access to high-quality bespoke education.

Her research spans GaN power electronics, machine-learning based device modeling and engineering-education innovation, attracting ~£2 million in funding and producing 26 publications to date. She advises government science bodies and education institutes in India and the UK, serves on the UK Engineering Professors’ Council and co-chairs its national Complex Systems Initiative. A TEDx speaker and prolific communicator, she has delivered 60+ keynotes, and 100+ outreach talks to audiences exceeding 100k worldwide.

An honorary associate professor at University College London (UCL), she is recognized among the ‘Top 50 Women in Engineering UK’, is a ‘Clinton Global Change maker’ and a elected member of the ‘UK Young Academy (UKYA)’. She features in the Imperial College/Gatsby Foundation’s book ‘Engineers Making a Difference’ and holds memberships in QEPrize for Engineering, IEEE, IET, the Women in Engineering Society and Advance HE.

Dr. S.R. Sivarasu is an accomplished energy professional with a Ph.D. in Renewable Energy from Anna University and over two decades of experience in power electronics and energy systems. He holds advanced degrees in Power Electronics and Electrical Engineering from prestigious institutions such as PSG College of Technology and Coimbatore Institute of Technology. A certified BEE Energy Auditor, he also holds qualifications in environmental and green building auditing, including ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, IGBC Accredited Professional, and GRIHA Certified Professional.

Dr. Sivarasu is the Managing Partner of Ram Kalam Centre for Energy Consultancy & Training and has successfully completed over 180 energy audits across diverse sectors including airports, railways, industries, commercial buildings, and educational institutions. His consultancy work spans across major cities like Coimbatore, Madurai, Pondicherry, and Vijayawada. He is also certified in sustainable waste management and carbon footprint management (ISO 14064).

He actively contributes to the professional community as a member of reputed bodies such as IEI, QCFI, IAEMP, ISHRAE, CPC, and NFE. Dr. Sivarasu’s expertise combines academic excellence with strong industrial consultancy experience, in the field of sustainable energy and environmental management.

Mr. J. Mohanan Pillai J. Mohanan Pillai is a Certified Energy Auditor and Retired Scientific Officer from Madras Atomic Power Station with over 39 years of experience in power plant operation and maintenance. A Fellow and Chartered Engineer of the Institution of Engineers (India), he holds an engineering degree and multiple professional certifications, including Certified Energy Auditor (BEE), Solar Integrator (MSME), and an M.Sc. in Yoga for Human Excellence. At Madras Atomic Power Station, he held key positions such as Management Information Section Head and Control Engineer, managing reactor systems, turbines, and SCADA operations. He was licensed by the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board to operate critical nuclear systems and led initiatives in energy management, operational planning, and technical troubleshooting. His early career began at Neyveli Thermal Power Station, contributing to turbine and boiler operations. Post-retirement, he worked with Ensave Consultancy, conducting energy audits across industries focusing on thermal, electrical, and renewable systems. His work has significantly improved efficiency and reduced costs in numerous plants. He is a two-time recipient of the Nuclear Power Corporation Group Achievement Award and a three-time Station Safety Award winner. He has presented technical papers on enhancing reactor safety and performance. He initiated over 30 implemented proposals on quality and energy improvements and mentored Quality Circle teams at both institutional and academic levels. A committed environmentalist, he advocates for energy-efficient technologies and has conducted public outreach programs on sustainability. His contributions include promoting rooftop solar, LED lighting, and BLDC fans, as well as auditing railway stations and factories across South India.

Dr. Prabha Sundaravadivel received her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of North Texas (UNT), Denton, in 2018. She earned her B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from SRM University, Chennai, in 2011, and her M.Tech in VLSI Design from VIT University, India, in 2015.

She is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Tyler, Tyler, Texas, USA. She leads a multidisciplinary research group as the Director of the Center for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (CeRIS), mentoring graduate, undergraduate, and high school students. Her team has received multiple accolades, including Best Paper, Poster and Pitch awards, at both regional and international conferences sponsored by IEEE and ACM.

Her research has led to successful funded projects totaling over $1.7 Million from organizations like NSF, NASA, Oracle, USDA, and the Venturewell Foundation. Her research is in the emerging areas of the Internet of Things (IoT), on-device learning, bio-inspired robotics, Agricultural Robotics and Applied ML. She has published over 85 papers, holds 3 U.S. patents, and has an h-index of 17.

Dr. Sundaravadivel has been recognized as a “Faculty Scholar” at the 2019 Grace Hopper Celebration for Women in Computing and 2022 ACM Richard Tapia Conference and was named as "Innovation Fellow" by Venturewell Foundation in 2023. In 2022, she was recognized as “Outstanding Early Career Researcher” in the IEEE Bio-Inspired Technical Community. She has received over 37 awards from multiple venues for her research and teaching accomplishments.
