The Indian Association of Energy Management Professionals (IAEMP) is an association that was started by like-minded Certified Energy Auditors/Energy Managers in 2006 to make our nation self-reliant in the energy sector. The SRM-IAEMP Student Chapter was inaugurated at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, SRMIST, Kattankulathur on 24th March 2023. Dr. U. Sowmmiya, Associate Professor, EEE Department is the Branch Counsellor for this Chapter and is actively making energy conservation awareness at schools (budding minds), conducts various energy conservation-related activities in campus as in-house contributions with the support of its student members.

Energy conservation, increasing the efficiency of electrical instruments, increasing the usage of renewable energy resources, techniques to increase energy production and creating awareness to the public about the importance of energy management and energy management in buildings are the key objectives of this Chapter. Currently, the Chapter holds nearly 26 students across various disciplines of Engineering and Technology.
