Industrial Advisory
- Harmonics and Energy measurement for 1 MVA inverter test load fed from M. V. Panel is done on 05.07.2018 at M/s GE Industries, Chennai 600 045. The report with recommendations sent to the firm.
- Harmonics and Energy measurement at incoming point of an 80 kVA UPS used for package drive used for an oil refineries M/s Kaleesuwari Refinery (P) Ltd., No.5, Mambakkam Road, Vengaivasal Chennai – 600073. The report on energy and harmonics study submitted for their reference.
- Harmonics and Power measurement for the VFD feeding chiller plant, water pump, utility panel and lighting panel were done on 04.05.2019 in a hotel industry at M/s Hotel Hablis, Guindy, Chennai 600 032. Specific observations submitted for their clarifications.
- Power Quality measurement at 33 kV incoming bus for a Cement Grinding Industry M/s RAMCO Cements Ltd., Kattuputhur, Kanchipuram Dist. – 603 107 on 10.05.2019. The measurement carried out for checking harmonics level when a detuning capacitor is connected to HV bus. The report on the study sent to the plant for their reference.
- Training program on Energy Auditing and Safety practices for Electrical Installations carried out to M/S FAURECIA India (P) Ltd., Maraimalai Nagar, Chennai 603 209 on 17.02.2020.
- Energy Assessment done in a printing industry M/s Green Pearl Publishing (P) Ltd., East Potheri, Kattankulathur on 07.03.2019.
- Harmonics measurement done in Auto Tech Industry M/s SRM Auto Tech (P) Ltd. Kandigai, Chennai 600 127 on 16.02.2019.
- Assessment of demand and energy in stone crushing industry at M/s Senthil stone crusher PVT. Ltd, Perambalur on 07.03.2021.
Technology Transfer to Industry
- National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE), (Formerly known as ” Centre for Wind Energy Technology ” under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy), Government of India.
- Worked on “Smart RE microgrid” project for converting NIWE to zero energy building.
- National Productivity Council, Centre of Excellence for Training in Energy Efficiency (CETEE), Under DPIT, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, GoI, Chennai.
- A training Programme was conducted on “Energy Efficiency in Pumps, and Compressed air system for enhancing productivity”.
- Hands on Training program on Fault Diagnosis and Power Quality Enhancement jointly conducted with M/s FLUKE Technologies (P) Ltd., on 31.01.2020

- National Instruments- Signed an MOU with NI systems to carry out research and development activities in academics.The department received AICTE-CII Award for the Best Industry linked Institute for Electrical Engineering and allied branch for the year 2019.Also, some of the companies, such as Wall Vision B V, Arm, Nvidia and proto circuits have provided the hardware equipment and relevant simulation packages to be set up laboratory in department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
