About the Department
The Department of Corporate Secretaryship & Accounting and Finance, College of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology of Tamil Nadu was established during the academic year 2011-12, and the department with present strength of faculty members of 12 with 6 Ph.D.’s and with the power of 560 students including doctoral students. The department offers two Undergraduate programs of B.Com Accounting & Finance, a B.Com Corporate Secretaryship; one Diploma Program, a Diploma in Certified Financial Management, and PG two years Programme of Master of Commerce with a Specialization in Accounting & Finance (M.Com A&F) under the syllabus of (Learning Outcome Based Framework LOCF) The papers from fields of accounting, management, finance, marketing, and human resources, company law, Labour legislations, Business Laws are offered through this Programme. Skill-based courses such as statistics, quantitative decision-making techniques, accounting practices, and business research methodology are also provided to improve students’ technical skills. Students have to prepare a project work/module during the last semester. The curriculum aims to develop professionals in academics and businesses as employees and entrepreneurs. The students will be exposed through industrial visits, internships, training, and educational trips. To impart quality education to the students by inculcating ethical standards towards the future, Students are taught practical exposures in Secretarial Practice and Finance through collaborative techniques with industries and professional bodies like ICWAI, ICSAI & ICAI.

Welcome to the Department of Corporate Secretaryship & Accounting and Finance, College of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur Tamil Nadu. We started our journey in the year of 2011-12. Over the last 10 years, we have grown our expertise and competence in the core areas of accounting, fiancé, research, Laws and Tax laws with latest curriculum of LOCF Model.
At present, the department has 560 students with 12 distinguished faculty members with 6 PhD scholars. Our Department offers Two undergraduate programmes B.Com Accounting & Finance and B.Com Corporate Secretaryship and One Post Graduate Programme of M.Com Accounting & Finance. The primary focus of our curriculum is to impart technical know-how to students, promote their problem solving skills and innovation of new technologies. Department offers large number of optional courses for providing wide spectrum of options to the students to pursue their interest. The course contents are periodically updated for introducing new innovative ideas and technological developments. Undergraduate students are encouraged to undertake various research projects.
Our department maintains active research groups for carrying out collaborative and interdisciplinary research. We have state of the art research facilities to support our academic programs and research.
Our department has a distinguished record in both teaching and research. Faculty members have excellent academic credentials and are highly regarded. They have been conferred with many prestigious awards at national. Few faculty members serve on the editorial boards of national and international journals, review technical articles for journals on a regular basis, and organize international symposia and conferences.
