ROM THE PHYSIO RUN
The event ROM was conducted every year from 2021-23 for the World Physiotherapy Day on SEPTEMBER 8. Every year this event was done for different social awareness causes. The two prime messages that was aimed to be conveyed to the general public was through the use of the torch, which remained blazing and was never quenched and the run itself symbolizing physical health during the restricted times of the Covid-19 pandemic.
ROM 2021
In ROM 2021, the runners were Physiotherapy students and the run began at SRM Trichy campus and ended at the SRM Kattankulathur Campus covering 287 Kilometres in about 33 hours. The 73 runners passed on the lighted torch until the total distance was covered. This mega- event which was registered for the ASIA AND INDIA BOOK OF RECORDS went on to win the title record of “LONGEST RELAY RUN WITH A FLAMING TORCH”. CAUSE : SOCIAL INCLUSION
ROM 2022
ROM 2022- THE PHYSIO RUN that was a recurrent relay run from SRM University, Andhra Pradesh to the SRM IST, Kattankulathur covering 490 kms with the participants being 60 student physiotherapists. The WORLD RECORDS UNION recognized the event with the record title of “Most students participated in an awareness lit torch relay for a cause”. CAUSE: CHILD PROTECTION
ROM 2023
In ROM 2023, the recurrent relay run was happened from SRM SONEPAT CAMPUS to SRM KTR campus which covered 2381 kms. The physiotherapists ran without any break for 9 days. Guinness world record was achieved for the most people lighting flame torches in a relay. CAUSE: GOOD HEALTH AND WELL BEING
