The College of Nursing was established in the year 1992, at Bharathi Salai, Ramapuram, Chennai 89. Presently, SRM College of Nursing is located at SRM Nagar, Potheri, Kattankulathur, Chengalpattu District in a pleasant and spacious campus, at 1 km distance from Potheri railway station & Potheri bus stop.
Many of our graduates are well-placed both in India and overseas. SRM College of Nursing has left an indelible mark on Curricular, Co-curricular, and Extracurricular Activities. These ventures help the students to evolve into truly global nursing professionals and citizens.
The teaching methods include lecture, discussions, symposia, seminars, panel discussions, debates and field visit etc.

The undergraduate degree program lays down a solid foundation for nurses, enabling them to embark on their professional careers upon registration. A Master of Science in Nursing represents an elevated postgraduate qualification tailored for registered nurses, serving as an initial credential for those venturing into roles as nurse educators and managers. Additionally, this degree can pave the path for nurses to pursue careers as Nurse Administrators, Health Policy Specialists, or Clinical Nurse Leaders. Furthermore, these graduates can utilize their degree as a steppingstone towards doctoral-level education, and advanced registered practice roles, such as Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nurse Anesthetists, Nurse Midwives, etc.
As the name suggests, it is a ‘Post Basic’ Nursing education program. It means that this program is meant for candidates who possess basic knowledge about this domain (Nursing). Post Basic Diploma in Nursing program has been crafted keeping the needs of GNM and B.Sc. Nursing graduates in mind. This program is crafted to help them acquire advanced Nursing knowledge and skills such as Critical Care Nursing, Operation Room Nursing, Emergency and Disaster Nursing.
Diploma in Nursing is a 3-year course that deals with the requirements of patients and treatments for saving their lives. Some of the core topics that student’s study are fundamentals of nursing, First aid, Mental Health and Psychology, Paediatric Nursing, etc. There are many job opportunities available for the students, and some of them are Staff Nurse, General Nurse, Head Nursing Services, Nursing In-charge, Emergency Nurses, Nursing Assistants, etc.
