About the Department

This center is developed to provide holistic experience to the stakeholders (Students/ Research Scholars/ Faculty/ Innovators/Entrepreneur/startup) on electronics and RF circuit design, manufacturing, testing and characterization. Center comprises of specialized laboratory facilitates the design/fabrication/testing /RF Characterization facility to crater the need of stakeholder project/product development, research works and industrial requirement. This infrastructure is also used to conduct skill development training programs for students, teaching and industry professional in the respective areas in the Electronics design / fabrication / antenna characterization, which helps the stakeholder an industry ready engineer.

In this center we have high speed computing facility with standard EDA tools like Altium, Orcad, TINA, etc, with academic and commercial license. We also have PCB Fabrication facility for making fast prototype to large volume production with skilled manpower. Electronics manufacturing system (EMS) facility is developed with state of art equipment to handle through hole and SMT devices for mass production.

The RF Design and characterization lab is equipped with HFSS software for RF Components and circuit design and also have Anechoic chamber having a test capability up to 40GHz supported with a Keysight-Vector Network Analyzed (VNA) of 14 GHz for characterization.

We have a team of Consultants available in various domains, will provide consultancy services in the following areas like Antenna design, fabrication and characterization, Embedded system design, Artificial Intelligence /Machine learning /Deep learning, Image and video processing (All categories), Signal processing (Analog and Digital), RF circuit design, analysis and characterization, VLSI Design (Complete design flow) Communication system (5G and beyond), Millimeter wave communication, Optical communication, computing and network, Nanoscale device modeling, Robotics and automation, Block chain, Drone communication and control technologies, AR/VR and other multidisciplinary domain, Hardware and software security, etc. CESD Facility is open for all users of SRMIST and external users.

The Centre for Electronics Skill Development and Consultancy Services is located in Basic Engineering Laboratory Building, 2^nd Floor, and Room no. BEL304, BEL305, BEL306, BEL307 & BEL308

Mission

Our centre of excellence provides a infrastructure and facility for the researchers, professionals, Engineers, Entrepreneur, technician to make use of our resources to build their capabilities and improve their proficiencies. It encompasses with RF and microwave Characterization facility, Electronics manufacturing system, various Electronics Design Automation tools, Photonic research facility, PCB design and Fabrication facility.

As India is emerging as a global electronics manufacturing hub, more Technocrat, Engineers, technical and skilled manpower is required. We have created state of art cutting edge technology research facility with modern tools and equipment for current research work from design to product development. We also offer tailored entrepreneurship and skill development training program in the niche areas to the engineers to became an industry ready engineer.
