About the Department
In 2012, the Department of Career Development was established to prepare students for professional and personal success. The department teaches them managerial, social, and people skills necessary for success in the corporate world and assists them in deciding on a career path. Soft skills, aptitude and logical reasoning, verbal aptitude, communication skills, professional skills, and leadership skills are all covered in the curriculum.
To actively engage all students, the department employs blended and activity-based learning. The department helps the students to know about Patterns of Interviews (Written Test), companies’ expectations, etc., to get a job in campus interview. Aptitude and Life Skills training will help them to settle in a public or private sector Job. Our department faculties are very energetic, enthusiastic, and innovative thought provokers. Faculties have participated and presented papers at National and International Conferences, Scopus indexed, and UGC Care- List journals.

Greetings!
Every one of us is in a pursuit of getting better each day. I believe that getting better does not imply landing a decent job or launching an entrepreneurial enterprise. Getting better in life is accepting challenges, accepting people for who they are, playing one’s roles with utmost sincerity, and most importantly appreciating oneself. I wish each one of my friends, students, colleagues, and acquaintances to get better than who they were yesterday.

Teaching environment and quality are central to SRMIST’s capabilities profile. Our Professors are the reason for our continued ability to foster vibrant and value adding learning experiences for our students. The success of our students in terms of their learning and overall development enabled by our faculty members is an area of focus of leadership at SRMIST. Many opportunities are provided to our faculty members to conduct research and engage with the industry in consultancy and other projects. This platform brings to our faculty members an opportunity to expand their knowledge contribution as well as bring those rich experiential inputs to the classrooms and labs therefore benefiting our students.
