Biography

Dr. P. Ravi is the Pro-Chancellor (Administration) of SRMIST, Kattankulathur, the Chancellor of SRM, Sonipet and does play a major role in deriving strategic growth patterns for all the institutions of the SRM conglomerate.

Dr. Ravi is compassionate in nature and has gone ahead to initiate several scholarships for meritorious as well as economically challenged students so as to enable them to progress in life. He was one of the first to contribute to the State’s Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support people affected by cyclone ‘Thane’ in Tamil Nadu.  Under his dynamic Chairmanship, SRMIST provided full scholarship (tuition fees and hostel fees waiver) to the students who hailed from localities in and around the cyclone-affected areas particularly agricultural families that were also affected by the cyclone. These scholarships are valid until the students complete their entire program.

Dr. Ravi was also instrumental in establishing the SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre at Kattankulathur. In addition to this, he established the SRM Institute of Medical Science (SIMS) at Vadapalani, Chennai. He ensures that the hospitals are updated with the state-of-the-art medical equipment and quality services are rendered with compassion.

His passion for the Hospitality Industry has enabled the SRM Group to establish four hotels of various categories in Tamil Nadu.

In recognition and appreciation for his contribution in the fields of Education, Hospitality and Medical Services, Dr. Ravi was conferred with many awards.
