Pro-Chancellor (Academic)

Dr. P. Sathyanarayanan, Pro-Chancellor of SRMIST, Kattankulathur and SRM University – AP . He is a dynamic entrepreneur and leader and lives by the motto “Think big, do big, achieve big”. This governs all his actions and enables him to excel in all the fields he ventures into.

Dr. Sathyanarayanan plays a pivotal role in advancing particularly the academic agenda for the all the institutions of the SRM conglomerate. During his tenure as Vice Chancellor of SRM University from 2003 to 2010, the university grew by leaps and bounds in research and international collaborations. Under his leadership, SRM University also set up an International Advisory Board comprising eminent academicians from Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Kellogg School of Management, and Carnegie Mellon amongst others. He was instrumental in the formulation of an International Student Exchange Programme, establishment of a Centre of Excellence for Empowerment of Women through IT, and the launch of a virtual education programme, to name a few. The university has received several accolades and recognitions including accreditations by ABET- USA, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in India.

In 2013, he went on to set up a university in Sikkim so as to cater to the northeastern parts of India as well. Dr. Sathyanarayanan also heads a number of organizations in sectors such as Information Technology, Media and Entertainment, and Construction to name a few. Under his dynamic leadership SRM Technologies Pvt. Ltd., SRM Engineering Construction Corporation Pvt. Ltd., New Generation Media Corporation Pvt. Ltd., and SRM Global Hospitals, took phenomenal dimensions and even turned out to be embodiments.

Dr. Sathyanarayanan obtained his Bachelors in Engineering from Anna University, Chennai. He completed his Master of Science from Northeastern University in USA and his doctoral degree from Southern Cross University, Sydney, Australia. He is also a recipient of many awards and accolades.
